Reaching the heavens is a subject prone to opinion. Not in this game though.

Path to God is a simple game about reaction time. The little horned character is on a stair path and needs to advance left and right depending on how the stairs progress. Bumping into an obstacle or stepping in the wrong direction will void your progress.

Things don't sound very dangerous when you think about it, but we should mention that the stairway is collapsing behind you. Do you rush like a mad-devil? Do you find a suitable pace, or do you do a combination of both?

Reaching God may be a reality after a lot of climbing, yet one of the game modes, called "Endless" makes me doubt that possibility. You can also chose to play Time Limited, where you need to climb as much as possible within 30 seconds. Believe me they feel like more than 30 seconds. The third mode is Time Attack in which you will have limited time in order to actually reach something. No God in sight though.

Along the path you will be collecting some sort of extended octahedrons with which you can buy new characters. For example, if you do not fancy the horned character then you might want to try a skeleton, a zombie or the Grim Reaper. The majority of characters are benevolent looking though.

Conclusion

Path to God may not be a path to illumination or any direct link to a deity or creator. Nevertheless it is cute looking game designed to frustrate and give you knuckle sores, just like spirituality does.
